Poem: Roaming

This is being posted in response to today’s Daily Prompt.

Roaming

I feel compelled to say –

I’m a bit lost.

I prefer the stagnation of summer heat

to the racing of autumn leaves

carried on the backs of swiftest steeds –

the phantoms of September, October, November.

That movement brings the end,

remember?
